Margaret Campbell creates artworks about her relationship to country and to her culture as a Luritja woman. Campbell’s subject matter is vast and articulate, painting animals, objects, and people in landscapes of desert and rivers. Her still life’s hold a lightness about them and reflect her wit, charm, and a perceptive eye for the everyday. Some depict her favourite artists, and others capture the colour and beauty of the desert with scenes from home, and the drive from Papunya to Mparntwe (Alice Springs).
Margaret has been working in Bindi’s Digital Arts Program since 2022 and the Bindi Mwerre Anthurre Artist Studio since 2020 where she has produced a diverse portfolio of works. She has explored painting, sculpture, digital drawing, and animation over her time at Bindi and continues to evolve and explore her practice through her great storytelling abilities.
